PS5 stock UK – live: Latest console restock news from Smyths, Argos, Very, BT and more

PS5 hits 1 million UK sales in record time

Update: The PS5 could drop at Very, EE and Currys PC World today. Read on for more information.

The PS5 launched in November 2020, but supply problems and a global semiconductor shortage caused the production of Sony’s next-generation console to slow to a crawl. New stock is still difficult to find, and when it does appear the PS5 sells out almost instantly.

September was a fairly mixed bag for PS5 restocks, but was still much better than June and July. Although not as good as August, we still saw some hefty drops at VerySmyths ToysBT, EE, ArgosAmazon and Game. We had 10 drops to end the month of September. The question now, is, will October kick off with a bang? AO.com has already dropped small quantities of stock twice this month. This week, we’ve also seen a drop at BT and an in-store drop at Smyths Toys.

If you’re still on the lookout for a PS5, you’ve come to the right place. Our liveblog is on hand to give you the latest insight on Playstation 5 restocks from all major UK retailers, both online and in-store, as well as providing details on rumoured releases, the latest PS5 games and accessories to snap up.

Could Currys PC World PS5 codes get sent out this week?

(The Independent)

We’re currently banging on Currys PC World’s doors, aggressively demanding to know when it is going to reopen its VIP priority pass draw, and for those lucky enough to have signed up before June, when exactly you can expect a code to drop in your inbox.

We haven’t had a reply yet… but we’ll keep trying. Currys last sent out new codes on 18 September and before that on 2 September, so it’s due another restock.

Very PS5 stock UK

Right, back to the important stuff. If we don’t get a PS5 restock at Very today, it will most likely happen next week instead – it never drops stock on a Friday. If that happens, it will have been a month since the retailer last had a console drop.

So, Very, make our day and drop some PS5s. Pretty please? Between April and June, the retailer had gone over two months without filling its virtual shelves again. Let’s just hope history isn’t about to repeat itself.

That is… if you’ve pre-ordered the game or have a subscription to EA Play. You can pre-order it now for £64.99 (Amazon.co.uk).

What PS5 stock drops could we see today?

Gooooood morning PS5 hunters and welcome to another day of PS5 stock tracking action. It’s been disastrously quiet so far on the ol’ restock front, with only two drops taking place this entire week.

We’re still predicting a restock at Very this morning, but if it doesn’t happen today, expect a drop next week instead. EE and Currys PC World are still outside chances. Stick with us and we’ll bring you the live updates as they happen.

A recap of today’s PS5 restock events

Well, we’ve come to the end of another day of PS5 stock tracking and we saw a grand total of… *checks charts* ZERO DROPS. October isn’t looking so fine and dandy, is it?

We’ve only had three drops so far this month, from AO.com, BT and Smyths Toys. We were hoping that Very could join the pack this morning, but that didn’t happen. There’s still a chance for a restock tomorrow though, so don’t lose hope! We’ll catch you all back here tomorrow morning for some more stock tracking fun. G’night for now.

‘Deathloop’ PS5 review

Managed to secure a PS5 from BT or Smyths Toys this week? Thanks for sticking around, we enjoy your company just as much as you do ours. Anyway, now that you’ve got one, you’ve totally got to play Deathloop.

(Bethesda)

It’s already tipped to be 2021’s game of the year, and for good reason too. “Deathloop is a freestyle assassination game with a Groundhog Day style time-warping mechanic,” our reviewer wrote. “Engrossing, beautifully designed and full of character, Deathloop is truly the PS5’s first great exclusive.”
